What You Should Know About Anti-aging Treatment Creams

Anti-aging treatment cream is one of the most popular routes both men and women look at first to counter the damaging effects of the aging process to their skin. Some people experience good results, whilst others do not.

If you are one of the people who have tried a number of general anti-aging treatment products but nothing has ever given you the desired results, you probably need to know the following information. Anti-aging treatment creams can work on skin, but if you don’t know how to maximize this route for results, it will be of no use.

Therefore, in order for you to get the results that you want you must first understand how your skin works, what are its components, and how aging signs develop as you get older. There are two essential structural proteins which your body uses to make your skin achieve good shape and perfect tone. These are called elastin and collagen.

Collagen
This is the more well known and talked about protein between the two. Its function is to maintain the tightness, firmness, and toned condition of your skin. Collagen fibres support most tissues of the skin and these are responsible for the elasticity and strength of the skin. These are also responsible for strengthening blood vessels as well as for tissue development. Therefore, when your collagen levels start to degrade, it makes the skin wrinkle, leading to visible aging.

Elastin
Although elastin does not get talked about that often, it is an as important protein as collagen is. Elastin plays a role in your body to make skin elastic and flexible. It is because of this elastin protein that your skin returns to its normal position and shape when you stretch or contract it. It also helps return the skin to its original position after it has been pinched or poked around!

Both proteins are at high levels when you are in your early years, as a child and young adult. Hοwеνеr as you start to age in the late 20s to early 30s, they start to diminish. As you get older, production of both elastin and collagen starts to slow down so that the amount present in the skin lessens. Because of this deficiency, it becomes easier for your skin to wrinkle, sag, and develop fine lines and other aging signs.

As mentioned above, treatment creams and other products will not be effective if you don’t maximize their use. Since the two proteins are the key components that make your skin firm and toned, it is important to look for products that contain elements which will encourage the re-growth of the elastin and collagen. Do not look for creams that claim they actually contain these proteins. Even though you know how vital these proteins are to make your skin achieve the elasticity and youthful glow, always remember that collagens and elastins are too large a protein to be actually absorbed through the skin’s pores.

Even if your body is no longer capable of producing as much collagens and elastins as when you were young, it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t know how to develop them. Indeed your body does remember how to make collagen and elastin, it just lacks the appropriate elements to enable it to do so. Therefore, the anti-aging cream that you should be using should be of a type that contains ingredients that help your body boost its abilities to make its own natural collagen and elastin (and hyaluronic acid).

This works at cellular level to encourage your cells to activate in a way they did when you were young, and what results after a certain period of time is skin that is firmer, more tones, and a complexion that is brighter, radiant, and even. Take a look at our Skincare range as it contains very advanced cellular ingredients for this long-term purpose.

Oh…and don’t forget that glycation is a factor which can lead to the breakdown of collagen and elastin. That must be tackled from within though the use of supplements that contain anti-glycation nutrients such as those found in Total Balance. There is more info about glycationon the Total Balance product pages.

My sister suffers from eczema…….will omega3 fish oils help in her case?

eric bellini July 23 2010

Hi Eric,

There is good reason to think that your sister would respond favorably to supplemental omega-3 fish oils. I encourage your sister to take 2-3 soft gels daily for at least three months. Most sufferers of eczema will see demonstrable improvement within a few weeks.

Eczema is a relatively common result of allergic and allergic like reactions. Id also recommend that your sister be tested for both food allergies and sensitivities. You might ask your healthcare professional about using the ALCAT Test to identify underlying food sensitivities.
