Lack of sleep may cause migraines
Ever wondered why you’re sometimes prone to getting severe headaches after a few nights of little or no sleep? Well, it seems that new research has found a biological link between poor sleeping habits and migraines.
According to this article, researchers found that sleep deprivation in rats caused increased expression of certain proteins which are known to help regulate the “sensory response in facial nerves thought to play a key role in migraines, known as the trigeminal nerves.”
It’s estimated that 36 million Americans may suffer from migraine headaches…while as many as 50 to 70 million Americans are known to suffer from sleep deprivation or other sleep related disorders. It’s easy to see how the two conditions can be connected.
Nutrient deficiencies, stress, and various other lifestyle factors can play a major role in disturbing your sleeping patterns. The knock-on effect can inevitably lead to not just migraines but also other serious health concerns.
By ensuring that your body, brain, and nervous system all receive the right ‘fuel’ for optimal health…for example, by taking Total Balance and Neuro-Natural General, you will be taking the first step towards a good night’s rest. However, this is just half of the solution…if you get migraines there is some evidence suggesting that CoQ10 will help so it may be worth including our new Omega 3 / QH Ultra into your regime.
Sleep routine is very important. You need to go to bed at the same time and wake up at the same time every day. This means that if you get up at 6AM during the week then you need to get up at 6AM on Saturday and Sunday. Well, that’s the idea…but if you’re like me, the actual execution of it may be a bit harder!
