Brain and Neurological Health

Both your Brain and Nervous System Require Specialized Nutrients

The incidences of Alzheimer’s and other forms of Dementia are sadly becoming more and more common and are developing in people at a younger age. Many experts believe that this is due to the modern diet, which is short on essential nutrients and high in contaminants such as preservatives and chemical flavoring. Exposure to other day-to-day environmental factors also plays a role.

Unlike our parents and grandparents who were not subjected to these external ‘destroyers’ of the brain…we are…and as such we need to try to counter these negative external factors and give our brains and nervous system the supplements they need to function properly and avoid premature death of the brain cells which can ultimately lead to Alzheimer's and Dementia.

Your Brain is your ‘Supercomputer’ and needs quality nutrient input, if…

You are to remain ‘sharp’ as you get older. An obvious nutrient is high quality fish oil rich in Omega 3 fatty acid DHA…not ALA which is the main Omega 3 found in oils from seeds. Your brain is primarily composed of DHA and ALA is a simpler Omega 3 and the body has a great deal of difficulty converting it to DHA.

But, there are many more nutrients that will support the brain and nervous system, such as Bacopa Extract, Phosphatidyl l-serine, Vinpocetine, SAMe etc. Because of the importance of the Brain and Nervous System we incorporated these nutrients and many more into our Total Balance formulas. These are not common nutrients and not normally found in a ‘general health’ formula, partly because of their cost and also the importance of a delivery system that protects the nutrients as they pass through the stomach. Total Balance does this through our enteric coating process.

Unique Formulas

Our R & D scientists have developed a further range of brain and nervous system supplements, focusing on improving brain function, memory and promote a healthy nervous system. These can be taken as stand alone products in a full dose or as an adjunct to our Total Balance range in which case a half dose would suffice. These contain further specialized nutrients and extra amounts of those nutrients that support the brain and nervous system
