Health Matters Newsletter - July 2021
Today I am going to share a sad but true story that hopefully will get you thinking about your own health.
This is Sir Bob Parker opening our new facility in Christchurch back in 2013. Sir Bob was also Mayor of Christchurch two years earlier in 2011 when we had a couple of violent earthquakes which destroyed the central city. Here he is with the Prime Minister John Key surveying the damage. Unlike some politicians, Sir Bob actually did good and cared about the people he was responsible for which led to a knighthood.
That was the good stuff... now for the sad part of the story.
In May 2020 Sir Bob had a heart attack. Nothing too unusual about that given he was 68 years old. Nonetheless, it was not good... but, it gets worse.
In October last year, he had a hemorrhagic stroke which is caused by bleeding in the brain. It has transformed him from a vibrant active individual to an invalid in a wheelchair. He is paralyzed on one side and sadly, he doesn't remember all the good things that he has achieved.
Instead of enjoying his twilight years with positive memories of the past, he will be spending his remaining years in a nursing home and in physical pain. When you see things like this happen to someone you know it really makes you sit up and think.
I can't help wondering if what happened to Sir Bob was due to the medication that he was put on after his heart attack. We know he was prescribed blood thinners and that blood thinners are well known to be a factor in hemorrhagic strokes. Maybe he was also on a statin as well to lower cholesterol. I don't know, but I am sure that the Doctors would have been giving him what they felt was the best treatment for him... but sadly they don't always get it right.
Even the best Doctors can get it wrong or are not aware of what is about to hit them or their patients.
Just consider what happened to Dr John Warner the president of the American Heart Association. There are many other examples like this including myself who went from being an incredibly healthy 70-year-old to lying flat on my back in the ICU due to a calcified heart valve that required open-heart surgery. You can see a video about my experience [here].
The moral of this story?
Don't think that you are bullet proof like I and many others do... take some prevention insurance. Not only be aware of the importance of diet and lifestyle but top it up with specialized supplementation.
It was my experience that prompted us to develop CX8 to give me a better chance of not repeating my experience.
Would it have helped Sir Bob or Dr John Warner?
I think so, but we will never know.
If you are serious about doing everything practical to avoid these life-threatening issues and you don't use CX8 at least study the ingredients in the formula and the rationale for them and source them yourself from wherever is the most convenient.
Take care.
Xtend-Life founder Warren Matthews discusses the importance of "preventative insurance" when it comes to cardiovascular health.
Warren shares the sad story of Sir Bob Parker, the former Mayor of Christchurch, who spends his remaining years in a nursing home and physical pain from a stroke. He also shares his own experience from being blind-sided by a build-up of calcification in his cardiovascular system - which could have ultimately led to a stroke- leading him to develop CX8, giving his family, friends, and customers a simple way to strengthen their cardiovascular system.

Heart health starts with prevention. CX8 uses the strongest and most reliable scientific data to address the five main causes of cardiovascular problems, giving you a better way to manage your cardiovascular health. CX8 is designed to:
- Reduce calcification in the soft tissues. Calcification causes hardening of the arteries, making a heart attack more likely.
- Improve circulation by smoothing out the inside of the blood vessels, so it is harder for plaque to attach and easier for blood to flow.
- Reduce inflammation in the blood, which can restrict blood flow.
- Increase adult stem cells to help replenish damaged cells in the cardiovascular system.
- Rebalance cholesterol levels by increasing the "good" HDL cholesterol and reducing the "bad" LDL cholesterol and Triglycerides.
