Many people think, the more you pay for a product, the better it must be. Well, of course, there’s an element of truth in this. But when you look at the skincare market, there are some outrageous prices being charged for some very mediocre products. In fact, the main selling point of many of these big-name brands is that a celebrity has endorsed them. Does the celebrity actually use the products? Who knows. But one thing we do know, the celebrity will have received a huge amount of money to endorse the product and the company will be paying an even larger amount to buy ongoing advertising. All this, of course, is added to the price of the product. A large amount of the (hefty) price you pay, ends up in the pockets of a celebrity, advertising agencies and media organizations. When you analyse what these big-name products actually contain, they’re incredibly over-priced.
