I was wondering what supplements you might suggest to help my 12 year old who has been diagnosed with ADHD. I noticed that some of the ingredients in the Neuro-Natural Sleep were also good for ADHD. Right now he is taking a variety of supplements including melatonin. I am a little concerned about giving him melatonin every day. Are there any side effects?

Because ADHD has so many guises it really needs a 'whole' approach for treatment. It is basically the name given to a group of disorders of certain mechanisms within the central nervous system, with a number of symptoms of varying degree for each child (or adult).
Our Neuro-Natural range does indeed contain a lot of ingredients that are recommended for this type of condition. Our Neuro-Natural Recall supplement however would be most appropriate for your son and for this condition.
It contains ingredients that help to calm the nervous system and concentrate neurotransmitter function, reduce stress, improve memory of course and ability to pay attention, a major component of the condition, and ingredients to help balance specific neurochemical deficiency.
As a 12-year old, he could take up to 3 tablets per day (1 tablet 3 times per day). Also, in addition to this, I would highly recommend Omega 3/DHA Fish Oil at 2 soft gels per day, to help maintain good brain function and restore the balance of essential fatty acids.
Finally, Total Balance Unisex Premium at a dose of up to 4 tablets per day, or Total Balance Unisex Standard at a dose of 2 tablets per day would be suitable for him, to help maintain his daily balance and to support the benefits of the Neuro-Natural Recall.
This would be an ideal protocol for your son, or any part thereof, depending on your budget.
You don't mention the other supplements he is taking (aside from the Melatonin) but you will likely find that most - if not all of these - could be dropped if he followed the comprehensive protocol mentioned above. If you wish to let me know what they are I will be happy to confirm these, or if he could still take any of them.
Along with a good supplement regime he needs to ensure that his diet is optimal - concentrate on plenty of raw/steamed vegetables, especially dark greens, fruits, nuts, seeds and lentils, as well as fish and whole grains, etc; plus increase daily pure fluids - water, and vegetable juicing, greens and others, as well as plenty of daily exercise. This all helps as a foundation to any supplement regime.
Regarding the Melatonin, this really isn't necessary for your son as it addresses only one symptom of his condition. Research does indeed suggest melatonin might improve insomnia in children with ADHD, especially those who may be taking medications or stimulants. However, improved sleep related to melatonin treatment does not result in a decrease of actual symptoms of ADHD. So this isn't helping the actual condition.
