Proteins in Omega 3s?

Does your Omega 3/DHA Esters product provide protein? If so, how much?

Question: From David. (Subject: Joint pain...)

I'm wondering if your Arthrit-Eze protocol 3 (intensive) may help with repetitive strain injuries, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, or with damaged tendons or cartilage.

I have multiple repetitive strain injuries in my hands, forearms, legs, and feet from using poor posture at my work desk for long hours. My therapist has not yet determined the specific damage, but tells me I have definite muscle tissue, tendon, or cartilage injuries.

I also have severe wrist pain, occasional knee joint pain, wrist joint clicking, and occasional burning/numbness on the back of my hands and feet. I am not taking any meds for these problems.

Do you think this protocol would be worth a try for the 3 months for these problems?

Answer: From Nicolien.

Actually David, I can't think of a better supplement protocol to try, in an effort to ease the problems that you are having, other than the Arthrit-Eze Protocol 3.

It may well be helpful with your Carpal tunnel syndrome, joint problems, and cartilage injuries and much more. We are receiving very positive feed back on this product. Good luck.

Question: From Darlene. (Subject: Red Rice Yeast Extract)

I missed the part about the hazards of red rice yeast which my husband and I are both taking along with CoQ10, fish oil and liver cleanse since weve quit our statins. Please fill me in.

Answer: From Nicolien.

With regard to red yeast rice, this works in a similar way as statin drugs. It contains naturally occurring statin molecules (lovastatin), which also occur in oyster mushrooms. 2400mg of red yeast rice provides about 10mg of active statin molecules.

Because the active ingredient is a similar molecule as that in statin drugs, it has the same potential for side effects. It may also cause elevated liver enzymes and muscle wasting (rhabdomyolysis). Red yeast rice or most statin drugs do not raise HDL levels, unlike our Cholesterol Formula which has been very effective in this area. If you would like to review our all natural Cholesterol Formula, please click here.

However, by taking CoQ10 you will minimize the possible side effects of red yeast rice extract.

Question: From Gina. (Subject: Proteins in Omega 3s?)

Does your Omega 3/DHA Esters product provide protein? If so, how much?

Answer: From Nicolien.

Our Omega 3/DHA Esters do not provide protein, as they only contains the esters distilled from Hoki fish oil. However, the soft gel in which we encapsulate the esters is derived from purified pharmaceutical grade bovine gelatine. Technically speaking, because the soft gel is made of glycoproteins, there is a very small amount of protein present, but really it is so small that it shouldn't be considered as a valid protein intake.
