Question: From Joe. (Subject: Vitamin D Deficiency...)q1

I would like some information on what causes Vitamin D Deficiency. I do get sun, and eat healthy. My doctor cannot find the answer for me.

Answer: From Nicolien.

Our body needs sunlight and a precursor of cholesterol (7-dehydrocholesterol) to synthesize vitamin D. The liver and the kidneys then convert it into an active form of vitamin D. Diseases affecting liver or kidneys can interfere with the activation of vitamin D and produce symptoms of deficiency. It may be helpful to have some blood tests done through your doctor to determine the health of your liver and kidneys.

Comment: From Angela. (Subject: Flu Immunity?)q2

I would like to know what I can use for defense from the flu. I usually take the flu shot, but unfortunately I am unable to get it. I have asthma. I usually am considered high risk.

Answer: From Nicolien.

Regarding influenza prevention, the best you can do is to strengthen your immune system as much as possible. Whereas this helps many people avoid the flu there is still the risk you may get it. Many of our customers report that since taking our Total Balance (TB) they have been able to avoid both flus and colds. This is understandable as it contains many immunity boosting ingredients and is very potent. You can learn more about it by clicking here. Also taking 2 capsules of fish oil will also help to boost your immune function, to view this product and other benefitsclick here.

For additional 'insurance' you could also take Echinacea (a herb that helps to boost immune function), and eat plenty of fresh garlic and onions. You also may like to check this book out, it sounds interesting and helpful: "Viral Immunity" by Alan Miller.

Question: From Keith. (Subject: Pine Bark...)q3

Thank you Nicolien for answering my questions so thoroughly, and promptly. I would be interested to know why pine bark is not included in the formula, but that will certainly not keep me from purchasing your products, so no hurry. I look forward to doing business with your company! :-)

Answer: From Warren.

When the latest generation of Total Balance was designed, consideration was given to the use of Pine Bark Extract but it was not included in favor of using Mahonia Grape Extract and Resveratrol which when combined with other ingredients present in Total Balance gave a broader range of activity and thus efficacy.
